Blue hue for Khajuraho

Blue is 'the' colour for this season. Contrary to its association with "blue" moods, blue lifts my spirits, calms my nerves and soothes.

Since I knew that the temples in Khajuraho are very neutral in colour, I wanted to wear something that would make me pop up in the pictures and will keep me cool in the Indian summer.

While designing this outfit I kept in my mind some basic deets. Like chinese collar to go with my long and sleek neck ,and keeping the outfit long and straight for an illusion of taller height. I paired it with navy blue leggings and brown flats.

This is a picture from the photoshoot that I did when my outfit was finally stitched and complete and I couldnt resist myself from wearing it.

That was all about my outfit. Now let's take a mintue to appreciate the beauty of the Kahjuraho temples. Oh ! How much do I love silhoutte photos of these temples.

Feeling Blue for Fall 2015

Fresh, vibrant and bold fashionable blue hues are statement-making tones that are a part of fall’s Pantone colour trend. Your bright blue hues can carry over into the fall from the summer, making a cool and easy wardrobe transition for the changing season.

These are the 7 fashionable blue hues to wear this fall.

1. TURQUOISE
A little on the brighter side, turquoise is a good blending palette to mix in with other warm shades or earth tones. The brightness of turquoise makes the biggest impact when worn in small doses like in jewellery or accessories.

2. TEAL
Because teal is such a low saturated colour the effect is regal and royal with a luxurious vibe. Its dynamic stand out colour looks great on any skin tone and will leave you feeling richly sophisticated when the shade is paired with a variety of textures like leather and velvet fit for the fall season.

3. AZURE
Nothing will brighten up a fall day more than the colour of the sky on a beautiful clear day, which is exactly what this azure hue does. Its Mediterranean cool colour offers a vivid statement much like turquoise and can be perfect for summer or fall.

4. LAPIS
The intensity of lapis blue is a daring and bold way to incorporate blue into your wardrobe this fall.

5. CERULEAN
We all know this shade is famous for it’s cameo in The Devil Wears Prada. A true cerulean shade features a deep blue with bright green undertones, which make it feel almost oceanic.

6. COBALT
Cobalt blue is a bold blue shade that stands out from the rest. Among the variety of blue hues, cobalt blue is making the biggest splash this season. If you’re not ready to say goodbye to your summer neons and brights then this shade is one you can definitely rock this fall while still looking season appropriate.

7. NAVY
Navy blue is a perfect staple shade that should be in your wardrobe year round. This crisp and cool colour is a forever classic that adds more depth than your traditional black.

These blue hues to wear this fall are nothing but high style happiness. How will you incorporate these fashionable blue hues into your fall wardrobe?

And stay tuned to know how I wore blue to my Khajuraho trip !!

Hair Trends 2015

Sit down, relax and take a note as I have summed up the latest hair trends that you need to know.

1. Hair Tapestry
This is the newest hair-trend !! Turning your strands into a needlepoint canvas, thread is woven through a block of hair using a tapestry loom, creating colorful, intricate patterns. Personally, I'm eager to try this trend.

2. Bright Colors
Bright colors have been in style for quite some time, but summer is the best time to try more daring colors. Katy Perry rocked this trend back to back with different colors.

3. Pastel Colors
Unicorn/cotton candy hair seems to be all the rage. I feel that pastes are the best option for people with naturally blonde hair.

4. Ombre
Who doesn’t love ombres. Well, people have moved from the natural shades to some really bold options. Celebrities like Jessie J, Demi Lovato, Kylie Jenner have already styled it.

Even I have tried this trend and let me tell you I am hooked to it. I have already done my hair turquoise ad pink and I am ready for more.

5. Granny Hair
This edgy look is redefining the definition of “going grey.” While this might sound kind of strange, it’s a bold hair statement and it actually looks awesome in every type of style. I would love to try this but I am not really sure if it would look good on tanned-Asian skin tone.

6. Half-half
Now this style is the most daring of all. You gotta have guts like Lady Gaga to get it done. Basically  you divide your hair into two, and color that with two different colors. Some like to leave one side untouched and color the other while others go for two totally contrasting colors.

7. Half Shaved
This style requires you to cut a little more than usual. This is such a bad-ass hairstyle. Kristen Stewart, Natalie Dormer (ain't she already slayin' the game of hair-dos)  and Demi  Lovato  weren't afraid to  shave it off.

And as I am writing this my mind is having a game of thrones on which color to dye my hair next. Orange, purple, blue, pink ? I am really confused.

Print-on-Print Trend

Print on print is the newest trend around the corner. It is all about combining two or more patterns . Here, I have suggestd some tips on how you can mix the prints. So take out a paper and take a note.

1. Mix prints according to the color palette.
Prints can be of the same color palette or different color palette as long as they complement each other.

2. Same print, different colors.
Visa-versa of the above mentioned point. Keeping the same print, mix different colors of the print.

3. Stripes
When it comes to prints, stripes are the basics. They are super versatile and can be paired with almost any other print be it floral, dots, checks or even different style of stripes.

4. Florals
Summers are all about floral prints. They can be paired with stripes, graphics, dots and other floral prints.

5. Checks
Checks are classic ! To create a bold look pair them with prints, stripes and different check prints.

I hope now you have an idea on how to combine the prints and create a show-stopping look. These are tips only to give you a brief idea on this trend. Once you get the hang of it, you will be brave enough to experiment. Who knows what look you may create !! So, stack up your prints and hit the runway.

New Year's Eve Nail Art

2015 is almost here. Everyone must be busy writing down their New Year's resoultions. Well I suggest you take some time out and treat yourself with a nail art to flaunt at the New Year's party.

Colours needed : Black, white, gold and glitter.
Tools: Dotting tool.

1. First start with the base colours and let them dry thoroughly. I did black on my thumb and the index finger whereas white on the middle and ring finger.

Base colours.

2. Starting with the thumb, make a row of the golden nail paint in the middle and then cover it with the glitter nail paint.

Thumb.

3. Using a dotting tool, write 2015 with a black nail paint.

Middle finger.

4. Now for the pinky finger, cover it with chunks of glitter using the glitter nail polish.

Pinky finger.

5. For the index and ring finger, I wanted to do a ombre glitter effect. So, load the cuticle side of the nail with glitter and decrease it while going to the other end.

Index and ring finger.

You can change the colours or even the patterns to give it your own personal touch. With this I sign off. I wish you a Happy New Year in advance just in case I don't come back with another post this year. Bye :)

Saree in winters.

Wedding season is here. And that means all the sarees, lehengas, etc are in. But with the chillin' wind blowing, one needs to cover up. Don't worry. That doesn't mean you will have to compromise with fashion.
I attended a wedding yesterday, and this is how I wore my saree.

I wanted to do a fusion look.
So I paired it with a leather jacket.
I also wore a woolen inner inside and to cover it, I wore my necklace on my waist.

Yes, I am posing with a pan in my hand. Why ? Because I love it. LOL :P

OOTD
Saree : flipkart. Com
Jacket : Max
Necklace : Fashion Exhibition

This is another jacket I tried. My roomate Tini made it. I thought one can make easy DIY jackets like this and rock the fusion look.

You have the hint now. Go on decide and try new looks. Pair different things and make your statement.

Jewellery Holder from an old frame

Hello.
I recycled this photo frame for my college assignment and I thought to share this with you.

Add caption
Required items : An old frame, metal mesh, ceramic and big buttons.

1. I did surface decoration using ceramic. You can use whatever you want like beads, buttons, crystals etc.

I made small ceramic balls and pressed them using a pen's cap to give that flower like impression.
Closeup of decoration.

2. I glued two buttons at the bottom panel so that I can hang chains and bangles.
Buttons as holders.

3. Then i fixed a metal mesh at the back of the frame.
